Bathroom Remodels on a Budget

Sometimes our customers’ budgets drive the need for a modular bathroom remodel, where the toilet, sink and vanity are remodeled first, and then the shower is remodeled at a later time.  In other situations, just the shower is in need of remodeling.  Sometimes it’s a new granite countertop, a backsplash, and a sink that provide a new look for the bathroom on a budget.  And then, of course, there’s the complete bathroom remodel where we start with a clean sheet of paper.  In any case, we work to your preferences and needs.

Shower Remodeling

Starting with a clean sheet of paper, the remodeled bathroom shown on the left included a number of unique angles, and tiling patterns that were designed by the homeowner.

The shower to the right - with a window facing the Puget Sound - the home owner wanted a tile shower wall that looked like the Puget Sound on a nice day.  On a sunny day, the result is breath taking.  This picture doesn’t do it justice.

The bottom line is that we can customize your bathroom to any vision ...

Curbless Showers

In the shower below, the homeowner was interested in a symmetrical implementation,
and a curbless shower entry.

Meeting any Budget or Specification

The view to the right shows an ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant curbless shower.

A glass-block wall was installed, and the homeowner chose to finish the project with 1-inch glass tile on the walls, and a stone mosaic pan.

Doing the Job Right

As specialists in tiling for bathroom remodels, we sometimes come upon situations where details have been missed.  Grouting tile is something that most anyone can learn to do, but there are subtleties that most people aren’t aware of.

The goal with grouting is to grout the tile with minimal grout and sharp lines.  It is also imperative to wash the excess grout off of the tile right after you grout, so that there isn’t a thin layer of grout on your new tile, or chunks that need to be chipped off once they have hardened.  Besides grouting the tile, it is important, as an extra measure for waterproofing, to apply similarly-colored caulk to areas that may be leave the wall exposed to water damage.  This is yet another extra layer of security that Dedicated Tile offers you.

To finish off edges of a tiled shower, you will usually need some type of trim tile, such as a bull nose tile.
